Daniel Wu in school with his niece and nephews
Not long ago, Daniel Wu and Shu Qi were photographed together
Yesterday, Daniel Wu visits the school of his auntie's 3 children, to participate in a fund-raising, in order to support the expansion of the school's building. He especially donated an oil painting to be auctioned. Daniel Wu has always been close with his nephews and niece, he was asked if he may consider having a baby with his girfriend LisaS. ? He promptly smiled: "Yes, before I turn 40 years-old , but no plans of marriage, if the only reason is because we had a child."
Speaking of which, earlier after being taken with Shu Qi, and Kelly Lin dining out which caused to spread rumors , Daniel Wu said frankly, it did not affect his relationship with his girlfriend. He said, just like with Kelly Lin, his girlfriend knows Shu Qi for so long. He also said that despite of the financial crisis earlier, he isnt worried about it, but admits it affected his girlfriend's modelling job.

Daniel Wu Surprises & Chow Yun Fat Supports at Miriam's "All About Love" Night 4
Monday
was night four of the "All About Love" concerts for Miriam Yeung.
Nothing has come easy during these concerts with rumors resurfacing
about her and Louis Koo as lovers, rumors saying she started an
underground relationship with Ding Ji Guo (丁子高) 2 months ago and rumors
alledging that her costumes are copies. Monday night, she carelessly
walked down the stairs and hurt her leg.
Two nights ago, while
Miriam was concentrating on her singing a voice suddenly kept saying
"All About Love..." Miriam initially thought it was Mark Lui or a crew
member who forgot to turn off their microphone, but upon hearing the
audience roar she turned around to see Daniel Wu on stage and bursted
out "Wow! You scared me!" Daniel Wu apologized that even though they've
worked together 3 times he hasn't ever heard her sing [live]. Miriam
responds, "It's not a big deal, some of my fans think I only act." Liza
Wang also showed her support, staying the entire show and afterwards
went backstage to show Miriam her support. Chow Yun Fat and his wife
did not show up but showed their support via 10+ big binding crabs.
Miriam says that with 1 show remaining she doesn't want break her
routine and will eat the big binding crabs during the post-concert
celebration.
Towards the end of the show, Miriam carelessly
turned her leg and fell down the stairs but with her quick reaction she
got up and immediately said "Wow, almost pulled off an Eason Chan. Good
thing I'm a female. It is okay to fall down as long as you know how to
get back up." With that, the audience erupted into applause. Despite
hurting her leg, she continued to sing and didn't show that she was
hurt.... (suite...)

Hollywood to Remake Hongkong Romance, Thursday July 12, 2007 Hongkong
Hollywood
will continue its tradition of ripping off popular films from other
countries after a studio agreed to remake the Hong Kong romantic
comedy, "Love Undercover."
Hong Kong director Joe Ma's 2002 smash is about a young policewoman who is picked for an undercover job.
Her
assignment is to get close enough to a gangster's son so that she can
plant a microphone at a table where the gangsters make their deals.
Complications arise when she finds herself falling in love with the son.
The film, featuring Hong Kong actress Miriam Yeung and actor Daniel Wu, became a trilogy.
Miriam Yeung was delighted by the news.
"It proves again Hong Kong films perform well on the market. And I hope the news will attract more investors," she said.
Director Joe Ma has expressed his hope Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore gets the leading role.
Another
big Hollywood remake of Hong Kong hit was crime flick "Departed," based
on Hong Kong director Wai Keung Lau's awards-winning film "Infernal
Affairs."
"The Departed" won Martin Scorsese the 2006 best director Oscar.

Daniel Wu Replaces Ekin Cheng as Spokesperson for Watch Company
Daniel Wu has recently replaced Ekin Cheng as the image person for a men's watch range and has filmed the Asian region advertisements for 'Me'. The photo shoot was held earlier at a villa.
When arriving at the venue, Daniel felt that the building was very familiar. Daniel, who studied architecture in USA, had a job at an interior design company when he first came to Hong Kong. The villa that they were shooting at was quite similar to designs his former employer had done. After asking around, Daniel realised that the villa had indeed been designed and owned by his former employer. Daniel commented, "My sister's apartment was also designed by him. I will call him up and say hi. I am very happy!"
It has been reported that Daniel was chosen for this job because of his professional attitude and his international fame. The advertisement will be released in Hong Kong and other big Asian cities this month.

Winds of Asia [Voiceover] Kings and the Clowns (2006.10.26)
Blogfrog Exclusive Interview with HEAVENLY KINGS’ Daniel Wu and Andrew Lin

Like a typical boy band with good looks and ego overload – each member of ALIVE sports a unique character with his own foibles – Daniel the control freak, Terrence ‘Mr No Show’ and fart-on-demand, Andrew the narcissistic schemer and Conroy the lazy slacker and “husband of Macao heiress Josie Ho.” Are they just being themselves or are these personalities constructed?
Daniel Wu [DW]: Our characters are all
constructed. I did a lot of research by watching many rockumentaries,
and noticed that band members all have distinct personalities, and
sometimes it was even the cause of the breakup. I felt it is a
necessary element to add to the portrayal. I took ideas and played with
the members’ image in the media.
The media often like to show Terence as a party animal, maybe they
caught him up late once, but actually he’s not like that at all. So I
made him play someone who’s not very responsible. Andrew often gets
roles in movies as the cool, bad guy, so I flipped that image around
and made him the passive-aggressive who is sensitive, shy yet
calculating. I assumed the character of the control freak, opposite to
the sunshine kid I was often asked to play in real life films.

Conroy’s personality was based on what people know about him already.
He was a supermodel. He used to be fit, not fat. So I constructed the
image of a house husband who never had to work, when in fact, he runs
his own production company and is very busy. Also, I subverted his
tough guy image by making him cute an soft, like a teddy bear – but
then these are also his real traits. .
Did Daniel assign the roles, or did the members all contribute to the characterization?
Andrew Lin [AL]: We brainstormed together and came up with the individual characteristics first, then we improvised some of it while shooting. It’s like the episode when I talked about my father’s love for Frank Sinatra. The audience likes to see relationships, even when a band is about business.
DW: The reference to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and the Rat
Pack is deliberate because it’s a Fifties boy band that has
similarities with ALIVE. They didn’t care about what others said, they
were anti-pop but became popular.
What about all the swearing in the film, and on your blog? Do you do that in real life?
DW: On our blog we tell our fans not to swear. The version for screening in Hong Kong has the swear words bleeped out. That way of talking makes the band seems more human, because usually, with boy bands like SMAP you only see what they present to the audience.

AL: We want the audience to figure out what’s real and what’s fake. I don’t care what others think about my image. I just treat it as part of my character.
Did you enjoy the session when you tried on costumes?
DW: There were a couple more sets of clothes in the wardrobe
that we didn’t try on. Just for the film we took out a photo session in
Central. The idea of the poster came from the Beetles and Village
People. It was a symbol of boy bands. The photo was quite embarrassing
– Conroy’s stomach was hanging out.
AL: We caused a traffic jam.

Do you have a favorite costume?
AL: The one with the penis on the shorts. It was actually one of the more conservative pieces of clothing.
DW: My
favorite is the cowboy costume. The first music album I ever bought was
Village People. At the time, I didn’t know they were this camp act. I
just thought cowboys and Indians were cool.
Are you really disbanding ALIVE?
DW: That’s right. We
have completed what we set out to do, which is to convey the message
that music, movies or art should not be commodified. I wish people
could go back to the passion and the heart which is fading away in our
globalized society. Especially in a place like Hong Kong, where 99
percent of the industry is profit driven. The film’s composer Jun Kong
is a very talented musician, but he doesn’t have a chance because he
gets tossed aside for not being mainstream.
